Brightcove gets Twembedded

Web video producers who use the Brightcove hosting service can now embed their videos into Tweets.

The operator has become verified for Twitter’s “Video Card” system which means customers can place a shortcode link of the style “http://bcove.me/” into their Twitter messages and the person viewing that Tweet can click the “show media” button to pop a small player out, directly underneath the text. It works both on the website and in the Twitter mobile phone app.

Brightcove says the system integrates with its existing analysis tools so their customers can track who’s watching what and how effective each Tweet is, leading to better opportunities to make money by advertising.
