New mounting for GoPro Hero

For those times when you’re not hurtling down a mountain or stuck to the side of a fast-moving vehicle, GoPro now offers the “Frame”, the “smallest, lightest way to mount your GoPro”, they say.

Because it’s an open design, you get access to the microSD, Micro HDMI and USB ports. Audio of course will be compromised unless you stick some kind of really tiny windjammer over the inbuilt mic but that’s why they suggest it’s not suitable for fast-paced activities. On the upside, the camera’s lens is protected by glass in the new frame.

A separately-available extension arm enables you to attach their LCD screen or extra battery pack. Here’s their video:
