New mic for iPhone 5
The tiny iXY microphone for iPhones has been updated to work with all flavours of the iPhone 5.
The stereo mic promises up to 24-bit / 96kHz recording capabilities and follows on from the original iXY launched a year ago which manufacturers Rode say was the first such mic for iPhones.

The new iXY with Lightning connector features “a matched pair of ½-inch condenser capsules arranged in a stacked X-Y configuration, with onboard analogue to digital conversion”. Interchangeable rubber mounting clamps are designed to provide shock protection and mop up handling noise.
You also get a basic foam windshield and storage pouch in the deal though would-be outdoor recording enthusiasts would be well advised to add a proper furry windshield on top.
