Freebie from Red Giant with Rode purchase
If you’re one of the diehards who insists on making life hard for yourself by shooting on a rigged up DSLR with separate audio recorders and all that malarky then listen up as there’s an offer from Rode and Red Giant that could be of interest.
From now until December 2015, you’ll get a free copy of Plural Eyes Express when you buy and register certain Rode microphones (full list at www.rode.com/pluraleyes)
Plural Eyes is a bit of software that works with editors to automatically synchronise audio recorded on an external device with a guide track captured on the video camera. The idea is to take all the palaver out of manually looking for sync points and moving audio samples hither and thither (maybe dither too).
The “Express” version is apparently exclusive to Rode – in other words, slightly function-limited so as to encourage you to pay up for the full version (which they’re making available for $79 USD). It syncs up to ten audio and video clips of up to thirty minutes total duration, and is compatible with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X and Final Cut Pro 7.
