Game On! (says YouTube)

A while after it was teased, YouTube’s dedicated gaming channel has gone live.

It’s a mix of videos and live streams which YouTube says “brings you closer to the games, gamers, and culture that matter to you” – whatever that means.

We can see this going awkwardly wrong occasionally because the channel automatically pulls in all gaming-related videos and live streams from YouTube. Hmm…

Viewers get personalised recommendations based on the games and channels they watch.

The site claims also to have made it easier to create a live stream with a beta version of the new way to go live at youtube.com/stream.

The English version of the new channel is online at gaming.youtube.com and there are apps on Google Play and the Apple AppStore in the US and UK (“more soon”, they promise)
