Sony Corp posts profit

Sony Corporation has announced profits of £280 million for the year to the end of March 2013, compared to a loss of around ten times that amount (£2.9billion) in the prior twelve months.

The “Imaging Products & Solutions” division, which includes consumer and broadcast video camera equipment sales, posted income down substantially from the previous year’s $184 million USD, largely due to restructuring charges and what it terms “a significant decrease in unit sales of video cameras”.

Amongst its many other products and services, the company also makes the popular Vegas Pro suite of video editing software.
