Film talent sought in Colchester – and beyond!
An intriguing and taxing project is being lined in up Colchester for keen and clever film-makers.
The “60 hour film challenge” invites people across the world to write, shoot and edit a two to five minute film in just – you guessed it – 60 hours. There are a host of lovely prizes on offer (indeed, over £10,000 worth!) from companies such as Adobe, GenArts, Beachtek and many more.
Better yet it’s free to enter but you need to register online before October 1st; the challenge then begins at 8pm BST on Friday October 2nd.
So you’re probably thinking, OK, I’ll just get something ready in the can before that? Noooo, hold your horses, Tonto.
You’ll have to wait to receive an email containing a title, line of dialogue and a prop that must be featured. Then the films can be made over the weekend of 3/4th October and must be uploaded to a Vimeo group by the Monday at 8am.
Shortlisted films will be screened and the winners announced at the Colchester Film Festival on Saturday October 24th.
Judges are Editor Jason Ballantine and Producer Richard Johns. Apparently over 200 entries were made last year. Sounds like a hoot!
