Hähnel release ultra-compact low cost tripod
Irish accessory maker Hähnel has unveiled a new, highly collapsable five-stage tripod that could be ideal for the far-flung adventurer. The Triad Compact C4 is made from aluminium and extends from just 31cm long when fully folded, to 135cm at full stretch.
Interestingly, the centre column is reversible so you can hand the camera or camcorder upside down to get really low shots.
The 3-section twist-lock legs have rubberised locking grips so you twist, pull and re-twist to extend each leg and lock it in place.
There’s a dovetail sliding plate with 2-stage lock system on the ballhead, released by pressing a button. The ball head rotates around 360º and can also lock into a portrait format.
Suggested retail price is £99.99 GBP. There’s a promotional video which, as usual for promotional videos, is rather more style than substance – see below – but we’re hoping to get one in for review so will post our own video when that happens. In the meantime check out www.hahnel.ie
