Android grows a Vine

The micro-micro-micro video blogging platform Vine has been ported to Android at long last.

Previously available only on iOS (Apple) it’s now available for download from teh Google Play Store for devices running Android 4.0 or later. The – slightly oddball – app enables users to record a video of total duration six seconds (really) in tiny chunks, stitched together into a continuous loop.

Tightly integrated with Twitter, hence the restriction on duration akin to Twitter’s 140 character limit, it’s promising exclusive Android-only features such as zoom and offline browsing.

The two versions of the app are slightly out of sync with each other at present but the developers say this won’t last long.
