Vimeo beefs up Pro offering

Video distribution site Vimeo has upgraded its offering to paying customers on their “Pro” account ($199 USD a year and not to be confused with the site’s other, lesser, payment plan, Vimeo Plus. The Pro account is the offering for those who want to upload commercial videos whereas the Plus and free accounts forbid this)

The new scheme sees upload limits raised to 20GB per week (around a Terabyte per year or as Vimeo calculate it, around 5 hours of HD video a week), and limits on the number of times a video can be played have been removed. Support is also offered by email on a one hour turnaround during the week, and one day at weekends.

1080p HD is supported and users get priority video encoding and FTP upload.
