Export award for microphone manufacturer

Microphone manufacturer Rode has topped off a busy 2013 by being awarded “Best Manufacturer” at the Australian Export Awards.

The Sydney-based company was praised for “innovation in marketing strategy, the degree of export growth and the creation of competitive advantage”.

Rode says that in the last year, it expanded to 108 markets around the world, won various product design awards and released the NT1, M5 and VideoMic GO microphones. The company also says it recently doubled the size of its manufacturing plant and company HQ.

The 76 finalists together contributed $9.1billion (AUS) in export earnings and employed more than 22,000 people.
