A new version of the Padcaster, a metal and plastic case for the iPad that provides mounting holes for video accessories, has been announced for use with the iPad Air.
The latest version of Apple’s tablet is thinner than the old one and has 1080p HD video, tap to focus, video stabilisation and other enhancements, so its filming capabilities are somewhat improved from previous generations. It’s therefore more likely to be in demand for low-budget and guerilla video making.
Existing owners of the Padcaster can order a cheap ($14.99 USD) adapter to make it fit the new iPad; impending owners can simply pre-order the dedicated Padcaster for iPad Air at a rather steeper $159 USD. iPad not included!
