YouTube ups analytics for playlists

YouTube has a bit of an obsession with playlists, it seems to us. We’re not fans – we’d rather choose our own selection of videos to watch rather than dumbly sit through someone else’s compilation – but YouTube is insistent so they’ve boosted the analysis they provide to everyone who creates or curates playlists.

From now on, you’ll be able to see the total number of video views derived from your playlists, how many times your viewers started watching a playlist and the average time they watched.

The new dataset doesn’t go back that far – just February this year but obviously it will build as time goes on.
