Red Giant Software has made an update to its “Universe” effects suite.
The plug-in software, which is available on the irritatingly trendy rented basis, is now at version 1.1. Nine new free and paid-for effects and transitions are on offer for Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro X and Apple Motion, along with updates to three existing tools.
Users of other software stay tuned too though as Red Giant has let slip it’s also adjusting the software to work under Sony Vegas Pro and DaVinci Resolve though no timescale has been made available on this.
Here’s the company’s own video about the update:

Meanwhile the company’s also announced version 1.2 of its BulletProof software which is designed to make things easier when transferring data off memory cards coming out of camcorders.
The update now supports AVCHD and MXF for Canon XF camcorders – which begs the question how on earth was the software released without that support? – a reference mode for files which promises one less “copy” thus speeding up workflow, and integration with PluralEyes, Red Giant’s audio-synchronisation tool.
